This library is part of a larger project, which involves the entire block where Cine Piratininga is present. A very traditional old cinema in the city of São Paulo. Now it is in ruins and completely forgotten. The purpose of this project was to restore the Cine and give a new cultural use to the block. With this, the library was created, part of a complex that also contains areas for food and commerce. The design inspiration of the library was the Brás neighborhood, where it is located. It has small and tall buildings glued together, with different heights and a certain pattern of colors. From this concept was born the facade of the library, which embraces a garden in its center.
